REVLON BLUE LAGOON - SWATCHES & REVIEW

It's been a while. I know. No excuses. I'm just plain lazy. But I promise I will try to post as frequent as possible :)

So I'm back with a product review. I have to tell you, I am obsessed with taking care of my hands and nails. You can get all the surgeries in the world to look young but when it comes to your age, it's your hands that will give you away. A quick tip - keep a bottle of a good hand cream right next to your hand wash and moisturize after every wash. Also, try not to use soaps that are too drying. Use a mild moisturizing one instead. Your hands will thank you.

Enough talk. Let's do some reviewing :D
This super gorgeous shade is called Blue Lagoon. There's a story behind how I got it ..or should I say "found it". I'm really into mint color these days. I have enough mint green nail polishes and I wanted a mint blue one. Did a little searching online and found this lovely shade. I WANTED IT ..like soo badd.! Was going to order it online.
The very next day, my younger sister sends home a lot of junk(she stays in a hostel and is very careless. Our servant had gone to clean her room and she gave him a a whole bag of things she wanted to throw away). So I'm sitting at home sorting all that out and there it is screaming "I'm shooo pretty, take me^_^
OMG we're so meant to be together :D

My experience

Blue lagoon is a light blue with really pretty silver shimmer. The consistency is not the best. It's really streaky and thick and a real pain to apply..but totally worth it. You just have to be patient. I have three coats on and no top coat. It took forever to dry.
The finish is quite rough because of the shimmer. But that doesn't bother me too much. No chips for a week which is quite good. Shows tip wear in less than a day. But I guess that's just because I overuse my nails. You can buy it here if you want.

BAKE WITH ME - "BEST" BROWNIES IN THE WORLD

Hello everyone :)
This is my first post and my very first attempt at blogging so my first thought was why not start with "something sweet".

I'm going to share with you guys my super secret super easy no fail recipe for delicious fudgy super ooey gooey brownies. I mean look at all that goo oozing out of them. Be prepared to gain a few inches people because you're going to want to make these every second day ( I know I do). I promise you these are the most delicious little bites of heaven you'll ever have. Okay Maybe I'm exaggerating just a little but trust me these are just yummieee yummmmm.

I've always been a big fan of brownies(the fudgy kinds not the cakey ones) and so I was always looking for "the perfect recipe". Some would turn out too dense and some too cakey. So I experimented a whole lot, adapted a few recipes and then one day THESE BABIES WERE BORN :D (I sound like that whacky professor tryna make the "powerpuff girls" in his lab don't I? ..well I'm no baker so it was an achievement :D)

You will need :

2 eggs
3/4 cup powdered sugar
2 tbsp honey
1/2 cup all purpose flour or Maida
1 tsp vanilla essence
100 gms semi sweet chocolate (I used Morde dark chocolate compound)
60 gms butter (about half a stick small amul butter)
1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup roughly chopped walnuts (optional)
1 tbsp Chocolate chips

Instructions :

1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
2. Line your 8 x 8 pan with parchment paper and grease it.
3. In a large steel pan(you're going to do all the mixing later in the same one) melt the butter and the 100 gms semi sweet chocolate over low heat stirring continuously.
4. Remove from heat and then add the sugar and honey. Stir well using a wooden spoon and let it cool('cause you don't want the eggs to scramble)
5. Beat the 2 eggs separately for about 10-15 seconds and add to the chocolate mixture along with the vanilla essence and stir until everything it well blended.(Never over mix it)
6. Now add the flour, walnuts and the choco chips. Stir using the same wooden spoon (not a whisk) until it's all combined(you don't want to over mix it because that'll make the brownies really cakey and dry like bread)
7. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Toothpick inserted should come out clean when done. Take them out instantly and let them cool(I know ..it's the hardest part). Cut and serve.
8. Enjoy with a glass of cold milk or a scoop of vanilla icecream on top :)

Do let me know how they turn out for you.

Have a chocolaty day everyone :)
